Life Charity

Website and group rebranding

Life are a charity who provide care and services to pregnant women and families and through advice, education and support, promote the positive alternatives to abortion.

We have been working for Life for a number of years across a range of projects including website design and build, print-based design and custom website functionality coding. We have recently completed a complete rebrand of the charity across print, physical and digital channels.

Life Charity Rebrand

Life had the opportunity for a comprehensive re-brand to reflect an important change in emphasis of the charity’s vision. Life’s longstanding central principle is that it is not enough simply to oppose abortion; they must provide and campaign for the alternatives.

Life now wanted to develop this further by campaigning to remove the reasons why so many women find abortion is their only option. With this in mind, as well as continuing to provide services which help women carry their pregnancies to term, they want to start campaigning about the primary reasons women have abortions.

Jellyhaus were employed as partners to Life to offer a full-agency service that included consultation, branding and website design/build.

Brand Bible (Style Guide)

We had the following goals:

  • To re-launch Life as a group of connected but interdependent group of activities
  • To reposition Life as credible, progressive, fighting for justice for women & children, working
  • for human rights for all, issue-led, pragmatic, on women’s side
  • To dramatically widen our appeal beyond ‘traditional’ pro-lifers
  • To position Life as the leading pregnancy care organisation with pro-life beliefs
  • To raise public awareness of the culture of abortion alongside the alternatives

This had to be communicated across the whole organisation as this wasn’t just a re-designing exercise, it was a complete change in their tone of voice.

Step forward the Brand Bible; a comprehensive document covering all aspects of the new brand, focusing on the key touchpoints. This will become the Brand Style Guide and will contain all the essential information for not only applications of colour, typography and logo but also guidance on tone-of-voice and practical applications on both standard and non-standard activities.

What this document was NOT was another brand guidelines document only to be read by fellow designers. Whilst the basic brand information will be present, it will omit patronising statements such as ‘do not display the logo upside down’ and instead speak to Life’s brand ambassadors its key values with guidance on real-life applications.

Custom WordPress Development

Making editing a website a doddle

A website that communicates the brand

Transforming a brand into an online experience is what we do best. Not only can we carry the brand design assets over, we can provide a custom WordPress CMS build that is not only easy to use for the users but also the content administrators.

Custom content modules and bespoke coding applications make updating the website super-easy for the Life marketing team.

We love WordPress. There’s nothing we don’t know about the platform. We can custom design, code and implement any type of site that leverages the WordPress platform. This includes news sites, product sites (including WooCommerce development), simple business sites and showcase portfolio sites.

Custom Google Map functionality

To facilitate showcasing the range of services Life offer, we built a customised Google Map, fully integrated into the WordPress CMS platform. Web editors are able to select location and type of service. The custom code will then use an appropriate icon dropped on the affected area.

Our expert designers and developers in house are able to leverage any public API services from Google, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn etc and build direct implementation with the service right into your website.
